Whimbrel

This bird breeds in the northern summer in the Arctic Circle areas. During the southern summer they migrate into the southern hemisphere, and at Lord Howe Island there are up to 20 of these from October to April; some years a few stay over winter.

Length: 41cm; wingspan 80cm.
